Birds of a Feather
March 2, 2010Hello friends! Many of you will be coming to the a session called “Birds of a Feather”. Before you get there, lets see if we can get you (and maybe your students involved). We need to “think bird”. What bird would win the title of the bravest bird? Why? What is the most famous bird? How many bird songs can you think of? What about books that include birds in the story? If you could be a bird, what bird would you be? What do birds eat? Even better, what do birds eat that you would like to find in your lunch bag? There is a catfish…is there a catbird and if so does it have whiskers?
Humans have eyes, ears, mouth and nose…is that the same for birds? (what about a tongue and teeth)
We would love to hear what you or you students think about any or all of these questions. Better yet what questions would your students like to pose about birds? Please feel free to post to this blog so that we can all “think bird” bird together.
Technology Training
September 29, 2009I need some input on technology training. We are getting lots of new technology “stuff” and with that comes the need for training. I would love to have your ideas about training. The what-what types of training would best benefit you, your school, our school district? The who-who needs to be trained? (train the trainer, those interested, everyone, etc) The when-when is a good time to offer training? ( after school, evenings, weekends, summer) The where-where would training best be held?
Please think and talk about this and share your thought with us.
Lincoln County Schools new website
September 4, 2009Great news! We are in the planning stages for a new website for both the district and all schools. It is very exciting to think that we are going to have something new and much more user friendly! I am looking for some input from the technology committee (as well as others) about what you think is needed as we work to build our site. The company we have gone with is SchoolInSites. Samples of sites from this company include www.gcschools.net, www.ardmorehigh.org, http://jacksonmadison.schoolinsites.com
Let me know what you think.
What about Yertle the Turtle?
July 12, 2009So what did the story “Yertle the Turtle” have to do with our American history? Is there another story that has the same theme as Yertle, or even a character in another story that has the same character traits as of the characters that inhabited the pond? Share your thoughts or respond to the thoughts of your classmates.
What does a technology rich classroom need?
May 7, 2009Picture in your mind the technology rich classroom that you would love to teach in. How many computers are in the classroom? What other devices exist (white boards, projectors etc)? How would the technology be used to support curriculum? How would this change what you do as a teacher? How would this change what your students do everyday in the classroom. Just in case you are wondering…I am looking for your vision.
Wireless in the Schools
May 7, 2009How do you feel about wireless access school wide? What do you see as the benefits? What problems do you think this might cause for teacher and for students?
Welcome to Our Blog!
May 6, 2009Welcome to the Lincoln County Technology Blog. We will use this blog as a way to communicate ideas and thoughts about technology in our schools. Remember that your responses can be seen by anyone…this is the Internet. This is not the place for complaining but a place to honestly discuss what is important and how we can move from where we are to where we want to be in terms of technology. The first question I would like for you to respond to is this:
What are three areas of technology that need to be strengthened on our system?
To respond to this blog click on the like in the upper right that says “no comments” or has a number and the word “comments”. You should then see an empty white box where you should type your response and then click on the words below the box “Submit Comments”.
